HEALTH & SAFETY PROCEDURES
The health of our dancers is our number one priority.

BEFORE ALL CLASSES
All participants must complete a COVID-19 Active Surveillance Form prior to class DAILY. To complete the form:
Visit your parent portal
Click “Attendance”
Click “Check In”
Select the appropriate student and program/class
Complete the questionnaire DAILY
If a dancer is not checked in, they will not be permitted to enter the studio with classmates
UPON ARRIVAL
Staggered class times limit the number of people entering/exiting the building at one time
Parents/guardians are to wait outside/in their vehicle with dancers until 2-4 minutes before class
Only registered dancers may enter the building; parents/guardians are to wait outside the building (with the exception of dancers 5 and under – no other family members may enter)
All people entering the building must sanitize prior to entry and may be screened
Masks must be worn entering and while in the waiting room; masks are not required while dancing
Any person experiencing illness symptoms without a known cause are not to enter the building
VACCINATION POLICY
In compliance with regulations mandated by the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unity and Ministry of Health the following individuals do NOT require proof of vaccination upon entering The DanceRoom:
Dancers under the age of 12 entering for the purpose of participating in dance class
Those picking up a retail purchase
In compliance with regulations mandated by the Simcoe Muskoka Health Unity and Ministry of Health the following individuals REQUIRE proof of vaccination upon entering The DanceRoom:
Parents or guardians of dancers entering the building with dancers
Class participants 12 or older
If you fall under the proof of vaccination category, you are required to proceed to the front desk upon entering with the following:
Identification (Birth certificate, citizenship card, driver's licence, government issued ID including health card, passport, etc.)
A paper vaccine receipt OR an email version. Your vaccine receipt must include your name, date of vaccination, and vaccine product name. You can also download/print a copy of your vaccination record through the provincial vaccine portal
If medically exempt from the vaccine, written documentation including:
Your name
Name and contact information of the physician or registered nurse
Logo or letterhead identifying the physician or registered nurse
Statement that there is a medical reason for the exemption from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Any effective time-period for the medical reason which includes the date the patron is seeking access to the business or organization.
At this time, we have not received confirmation whether dancers 12+ will require a vaccine to perform at venues including theatres and convention centres. It is our understanding audience members and parents accompanying dancers into such venues will require proof of vaccination to enter.
IN STUDIO
Belongings must be placed away from the belongings of others’
Physical distancing is enforced in common areas
Waiting rooms will be closed to parents/guardians except those with dancers 5 and under – no other family members may accompany the parent/guardian and dancer
Dancers 9 years and older may use the waiting room between classes but are encouraged to wait with their parent/guardian outside or in their vehicle
Our schedule will allow for sanitization periods between cohorts
Surfaces in common areas are sanitized regularly; hand sanitizer and surface wipes will be available
Dancers should use washrooms before arrival; washrooms are for emergencies
Class sizes are determined by a strict classroom capacity that allows for physical distancing
SAFE EXITING
Parents/guardians of dancers 10 and under must meet their dancer outside the building immediately following class
Safe exiting of the building will be monitored by office staff
