SCHOLARSHIPS
DEB REDMAN TAP SCHOLARSHIP
In memory of tap teacher Deb Redman, The DanceRoom has received a donation to support The DanceRoom’s tap program. We feel these funds are best suited to support our dancers and their passion. This Tap Scholarship will provide a dancer with up to $300 towards their tap dance programming. This scholarship may be awarded annually, or as often as per program term (summer, fall, and winter).
NICOLE DOERR COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIP
Nicole Doerr and her mother Sally have been instrumental in helping us develop our competitive programming. They have brought new and progressive concepts, skills, and structures to our team, and kindly opened their doors to our students offering them opportunities to train with some of the most respected individuals in the dance industry. Nicole passed away suddenly, leaving a large hole in the dance world. We want to keep her memory alive in our studio, and honour the mark she and her mom have made on The DanceRoom.
This $375 scholarship is awarded to our highest scoring (averaged) part-time and full-time soloists.

ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIP
The Assistant Scholarship is a $500 scholarship awarded to a student assistant who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to leadership, mentorship, and supporting the growth and success of others. The scholarship celebrates the important role our assistants play within our studio community and the lasting impact they can have on younger dancers.
Recipients demonstrate exceptional attentiveness, adaptability, patience, enthusiasm, and kindness, consistently creating a positive and encouraging environment where dancers feel supported, confident, and excited to learn. They demonstrate a willingness to adapt to individual needs, lead by example, and go above and beyond to help others feel welcomed, capable, and valued.
This scholarship celebrates the qualities we believe define an exceptional DanceRoom assistant: compassionate leadership, dependability, positivity, initiative, and a genuine desire to help others thrive.
COMPETITIVE SCHOLARSHIP
The Competitive Scholarship celebrates one part-time and one full-time dancer who bring positivity, dedication, kindness, and a strong work ethic to their training. This $375 scholarship recognizes the importance of not only striving for excellence in dance, but also contributing positively to the studio environment and supporting those around them.
Recipients are selected by The DanceRoom instructors based on their consistent work ethic, positive attitude, kindness, dedication, and commitment to their growth as dancers and individuals. These dancers demonstrate a willingness to work hard, embrace challenges, encourage their teammates, and approach their training with enthusiasm and determination.
